During her engineering, she used to visit India for holidays to meet her relations in Chennai. During these visits, her dad took her to meet Music director Bharadwaj who inspite of being immensely popular and busy gave some time for meeting. That showed his simplicity and encouragement towards young talents. He asked her to sing and she had sung his song ‘Unnodu Vazhadha’ from the movie Amarkalam. After that she got back to her routine in Singapore. After few months, she got a call from Bharadwaj for recording. She flew down from Singapore to record the song.
It was a dream come true for Priyadarshini who had been to AVM studios for the recording. Music director Bharadwaj had actually called her for a duet with Padmashri Hariharan. Being abroad all the time hearing Hariharan’s songs and finally getting an opportunity to sing along with him was an unforgettable moment in Priya’s life. She is grateful to Bharadwaj for identifying her potential.
Due to immense passion in music, she decided to relocate to India to pursue her music career with the support of her parents.
After which she had sung for over 50 movies in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu. She was introduced in Kannada Film Industry by Music Director Rajesh Ramnath.
She has also sung for renowned music directors like Sung for renowned Music Directors- Hamsalekha, Mano Murthy, Bharadwaj, Gurukiran, R P Patnaik, Rajesh Ramnath, K Kalyan, Venkat, Narayan, Ravish A T, M N Krupakar, C R Bobby, S A Rajkumar, D. Imman, and others.
Priyadarshini has many devotional albums and Jingles to her credit.
Today Priya is one of the leading playback singers in the film Industry.
